AION 2 legion guide: how legions work, and how to find the right one

Atreia was never a place to fight alone. Since the Cataclysm split the Tower of Eternity and the world with it, Elyos and Asmodian Daevas have banded together in legions: the people you farm the Abyss with, plan the artifact war with and log in for on a Tuesday night. This guide covers how legions work in AION 2 at the global launch, and how to pick one that fits you.

What a legion is in AION 2

A legion is AION 2's guild. It is where your party for the Abyss comes from, who you raid with, and who answers when you ask a question in chat.

The legion hall in game

From legion level 1 a legion can rent a hall for 1,000,000 Kinah per 30 days. Elyos halls are in Verteron and Eltnen, Asmodian halls in Altgard and Morheim. A hall has crafting stations, merchants and storage, and 17 decoration slots that give deity stats.

How to join or create a legion

Legions unlock through a quest: Renewed Resolve for Elyos and Buried Atrocities for Asmodians, recommended around level 16. After that you can search for legions by name in the Legion menu, read their recruitment notes and apply, or be invited by an officer.

The in-game search only finds legions by name. To find one that plays when you do, needs your class and fits how you like to play, use Find a legion on Legionhall.

Why your legion matters most in the Abyss

The Abyss opens at level 45, and that is where a good legion pays off.

Playing the Abyss solo is hard. A legion gives you a party, voice comms and people who call targets.

The eight classes, and what legions look for

Class Role Weapon
Templar Tank Longsword and shield
Gladiator Bruiser, off-tank Greatsword
Assassin Melee damage Daggers
Ranger Ranged physical damage Bow
Sorcerer Ranged magic damage Spellbook
Spiritmaster Summoner, support (Elementalist in Korea and Taiwan) Orb
Cleric Healer Mace
Chanter Hybrid support Staff

How to pick a legion

  1. Faction and server first. You can only join legions on your own faction's server.
  2. Play times. A legion that raids at 20:00 CET is no use if you play at night.
  3. What they focus on. Sieges, raids, PvP, dungeons, or relaxed play.
  4. How active they are. Look at their feed, upcoming events and attendance. A legion that posts and shows up is worth more than a big name.
  5. Who leads. Read their about page and rules, and talk to an officer before you apply.
