Legionhall is a free website for MMO legions, made by players as a hobby project. This page explains what we store about you, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short and we mean it.
Who is responsible: Legionhall, contact hall@legionhall.gg. Write to that address about anything on this page, and a person will answer.
What we store, and why
| What | Why | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Your Discord ID, name and avatar, from logging in with Discord | So you have an account and others see who posted | Contract (to provide the service) |
| Your e-mail address, from Discord or one you enter and confirm yourself | Only used if you say yes to e-mail. News about Legionhall itself is a separate yes | Consent |
| Characters, legions, posts, comments, screenshots, event sign-ups, wiki pages | That is the service: you put them there | Contract |
| Public game data for characters you link: class, level, combat power, item level, server, in-game legion, gear, stats, Daevanion and skills, from the official AION 2 character service | So your legion sees your real numbers; refreshed once a day. You choose who sees gear and stats: everyone, your legion, or only you | Contract (you ask for it) |
| Your companions and companion requests: who asked whom, and when | So you and your companions see each other's posts in the feed. Either of you can end it at any time, and it is gone at once | Contract |
| When you were last active | To show legions who is around, and for the «we miss you» e-mail if you said yes to e-mail | Legitimate interest |
| Reports you make, and moderation decisions | To keep Legionhall safe and lawful | Legitimate interest and legal obligation |
| Bug reports: what you write, the page, your browser and screen size, and a contact if you leave one | To find and fix bugs; mailed to our team address | Legitimate interest |
| Push notification address for a device, if you turn notifications on | To remind you of events and field bosses; removed when you turn them off or the browser drops it | Consent |
| Technical logs (time, page and errors, without IP addresses), rotated after a few days | Security and fixing errors | Legitimate interest |
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking of any kind.
Cookies
We use one cookie, lh_sid, which keeps you logged in. It is strictly necessary, so no consent banner is needed. During login we also set a short-lived cookie (lh_state) that protects the login from forgery. There are no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies, and no third-party cookies. Embedded YouTube clips use youtube-nocookie.com; Twitch clips load from Twitch when you play them.
Automated checks
- Images: every uploaded image is checked automatically for nudity by an image model that runs on Legionhall's own server. Your images are never sent to anyone else for this, and they are not used to train any model. Revealing game armour and outfits are fine. Only images the model is near-certain show real nudity are refused; anything uncertain is looked at by a person.
- Words: a short filter stops the worst slurs in public text.
- Reports: if three players report the same post or comment, it is hidden until a moderator has looked.
No automated system makes a final decision about your account. A person reviews every report, and you can always ask us to look again.
Who else handles your data
| Service | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Hetzner | Our servers and database | EU |
| Discord | Logging in, and our bot in your legion's server | Discord's own terms apply |
| Resend | Sending e-mail, only if you said yes | EU/US, under standard contractual clauses |
| Steam | We fetch public AION 2 news from Steam. We send Steam no data about you | — |
| NCSOFT (AION 2 character service) | Only when you link a character: we look up its public profile by name and server. If you pick your portrait from AION 2 as profile picture, we copy it to our server, so visitors never load it from NCSOFT. We send no account data about you | NCSOFT's own terms apply |
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. Posts and comments you delete are removed from view at once and from our database within 30 days. Backups are kept for at most 30 days. Technical logs only for a few days.
Your rights
You can see, correct, download and delete your data at any time:
- Download everything: «Download my data» on your profile page gives you all of it as a file.
- Delete your account: «Delete my account» on your profile page removes your account, characters, posts, comments and screenshots for good.
- E-mail: turn it off on your profile page or with the link in any e-mail.
- Anything else (correction, objection, restriction, a question): write to hall@legionhall.gg.
You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Norway that is Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.no).
Children
Legionhall is for people aged 13 and over (16 in some EU countries, where a parent must agree for younger players). Discord has the same age limit.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so on the site before it takes effect.
